Fungi the Dolphin

A friendly single male Bottlenose dolphin appeared off the coast of Dingle in the early 80s and decided to stay. Interest in the beast surged, he was lured to a boat and put up on a seawrap and studied by marine biologists in 1984. The animal was judged to be a mature Bottlenose, estimated age of between 25 and 30 years. Male Bottlenoses live between 45 to 50 years.

Why are these people still running boat tours for Fungi? The good chap has long departed this world. Is there an imposter in his place?

What do you mean 'put up on a seawrap'? Was he released after being studied?

There have been loads of Fungis apparently, there are even dolphins in other parts of Ireland all known as Fungi. Seems we're not that inventive when it comes to dolphin names. There were also warnings about a dolphin attacking tourists off the west coast as well earlier this year, seemed she'd had enough of being gawked at.

Dolphins are not the cute cuddly creatures people think they are anyway. They drown and rape porpoises. They are conniving and cranky. Basically just swimming evil.

there are several pods of resident dolphins in that area.

perfectly possible that the original Fungi has died and another has taken over..... like Moore taking over from Connery as bond I suppose......

or maybe hes just ancient, still doing his thing.

    again, like Connery!

I remember rubbing the creature as a young lad, the beak came out of the water and opened and I dropped in a piece of frozen cod. It was a wonderful moment, I could see the animals eyes staring up at me from just below the water line.

That sounds utterly terrifying. Anything with a beak and teeth should be avoided in my opinion. Especially anything staring at you from its black soulless eyes as you threw lumps of frozen fish at it.

You're lucky you made it out alive.

Some complete assholes poured beer into a dolphin's blow hole on the west coast last year.
