Can you please tell me what your school charges for breakfast club /after school club (hourly rates). We voted one into our school and prices seem to be very dear. Other local schools charging very reasonable amounts. Cork county region.

    Thanks

It's probably not the school organising it, is it a private business ?

It's someone outside of the school and using school grounds. What are the expected rates for this?

15 euro a week for the hour from 14:40 to 14:40 in one school that I know of.
5 euro an hour for after school seems to be the norm no matter where it is.

Completely free... DEIS school... run by volunteer's/parents.

Also in a DEIS school and it's free- run by teachers. Unfortunately, some parents see it as an extra hour of babysitting. Even if there was a charge of €1 per day, it might make a difference to the attitude.

I'm very jealous of all the extra funding supplied to DEIS schools for stuff like free books, breakfasts, lunches and other programmes

are you sure the teachers aren't being paid for it?

Absolutely - not being paid. There is a lot thrown in our direction - but it is for the most disadvantaged, yet because it's free - it's often not appreciated :(

Teachers don't run ours, parents do.

In our school, the teachers do get paid, although it is a very small amount of money from what I've heard.
