UNFORTUNATELY!!! I am not smoking today. A bottle of red Bordeaux and some orange liqueur that tastes like me dogs crap. Anyway..

I've been fascinated by singularities since I was a kid, I uderstand they are violating Einstein's "e=mc2" thing but why not work a little more on them? Are they gods? Things we will never comprehend, as we are unable to calculate them?

The honest truth....is that if we all 'worked together' we'd reach a point of economic equilibrium. This would mean a much better life for everyone who is poor (and I mean poor on a global scale, poor in Ireland is quite wealthy in most of the world).

But it would mean a much worse life for everyone who is currently wealthy.

In the entire world - we have about 110 trillion USD of wealth and 7 billion people. Do the math. If we spread it around, we'd all have about 15k USD or 11.5k EUR.

Everyone with less than 11.5k EUR to their name, would benefit from this warm-fuzzy love thy neighbour stuff. Everyone with more than 11.5k EUR is just going to lose that money.

Money is power. The people with the money also have power. Militarys cost money. Guns cost money. Bombs cost money. The people with the money can afford the things it takes to keep the money.

And it's not all some abstract evil super-rich villain keeping the world down. Would you rather teach your child to read, or teach a poor kid in Africa to read? Would you rather feed your child or feed a poor kid in India? Most of us are happy to give our child many times the advantages that other children get. And it doesn't matter if we make 30k or 300k or 3 million - do you really think the average child in Ireland gets the same advantages that the royal family gets? Of course not. It doesn't matter how we have, we always want a better life for ourselves and our family (exceptions to this are so rare as to be not worth mentioning).

It's not fair, but it's life. The good news is, if you are on boards.ie - odds are, you're well above the global median quality of life.

Because we're human, so basically we have too many flaws, like ego, jealousy, spite, envy etc. So, while it would be nice if everyone was nice, it's never going to happen.

Because most of us tend to do things that are in our own individual best interests - its hardwired into us…………we only co-operate if it benefits us and even then its usually an uneasy alliance…we want our offspring to have more than our neighbours…we want to be more successful than those around us etc…..its in our nature to compete

To mention a few, all countries wanted more.
Just look at all the cathedrals in Europe.
A vulgar display of ill gotten of wealth.
So maybe religion has a part to play as well.
