I'm wondering does anyone know if I could use a product like blonde go blonder shampoo on my brown hair. I know that the shampoo says its not for brown or dark hair but I'd really like to lighten by kind of dark brown hair without having to dye it as I don't really want to go blonde blond just to lighten my hair a few shades to a lighter brown. So basically tl;Dr can I use blonde go blonder shampoo on my brown shampoo and if so does anyone have any tips.

It won't do much to lighten your hair if it has no peroxide in it tbh. Especially if you're dark.

You need peroxide/ bleach to lighten you hair and you're not going to get that in a shampoo. Them lightening shampoos are basically just toners- they take the brassiness out of blonde hair to give a cleaner blonde colour. Hairdressers often use toners after doing highlights just to adjust the tone of the hi light at the end to lift the reddish tones.

Unless your hair is blonde already, you are going to see no difference. There was a thread here lately about a lightening sun moose I think it was by Loreal- now that contains peroxide albeit in a small quantity and would lighten but you run the risk of just going ginger- unless that's the look you want.

Thanks for the help I didn't think it was going to do anything but my sister had a bottle in the shower so I'd said I might as well ask.

Is there any product that would lighten my hair colour besides dying it. I'm really just looking to lighten it a few shades to the kind of colour I get after a few weeks in the sun on holidays which doesn't happen here in Ireland cause we don't get enough sun.

    What about sun in spray?

Well if you could stretch to dyeing it a bit, loreal sunkiss jelly is fantastic. I'd never dyed my hair before but like you my hair is brown and I wanted it to look like I'd been in the sun. I used a bottle and I've been recieving compliments on my hair since. Just lightens it a few shades and brightens it up a bit. :)

I looked into sun kissed spray and I don't think I'll go with it too many people have said its caused them really dry hair and given hair a brassy colour.

I am currently looking at the Sun Kissed jelly and its looking good so far and looks like what I want.
