Who supplies the cheapest or good value unlimited land line and mobile calls deal?

Ireland's now has a lot of telephone companies includeing
    •BT Ireland
    •Digiweb
    •Eircom
    •Hive Telecom
    •Imagine
    •O2 Ireland
    •Perlico
    •Pure Telecom
    •Smart Telecom
    •Talk Talk
    •UPC
    •Vodafone Ireland
    •World Link

Almost all the websites seem to offer packages with Broad band.

Ps I have no interest in broadband as telephone lines here struggled with dial up networking let alone have the faintest hope of providing a broadband service.

My current provider gives unlimited local and national calls but only 30 minutes of mobile - lots of people that I used to phone no longer have a landline so 30 minutes is hopeless

So I am looking for unlimited local national and Irish mobile (And a discount because Broad Band is not available here )

Best offer I have found so far is Unlimited calls to Irish landlines plus Unlimited Irish mobiles 55 euro/month
This includes line rental and vat

    Thanks

    Regards

    Hugh

it doesnt matter who is the cheapest its who you can get coverage with, i am with meteor for mobile- no vodafone or 3 coverage here- and imagine /wi max for house phone and broadband , wi max is 45 euro /month and meteor is 50 euro/month for all calls and internet

I am currently looking at changing to Tesco mobile as they use the o2 network (the only one with any decent coverage here)(Also as it is sim only I can abandon it in a month if not any good)

But its now its the landline that I am tackling (without broadband as the lines here were buried about 10 years ago and they are not going to bury new ones)

(Houses round here get their broadband wirelessly from various suppliers that have masts on hills etc.)

Have you tried the broadband line checker on any of the telco websites? Input your landline phone number and it tells you what speed you can get.

If the cables are only 10 years old they should get some sort of broadband, maybe 5 meg.
Unless the phone line is the ancient twisted pair type? In that case you’re probably correct about dial up.

If you just need calls, then a lot of the mobile operators offer unlimited calls to mobiles and landlines even on the pay as you go tariff. Tesco, Meteor & O2 seem to have ads on tv about this recently.

    Thanks for the reply.
I often receive calls from companies trying to sell broadband and as soon as I give them my no they apologize for bothering me - I am amazed how they don't check the lines as they phone them rather than wasting their and my time.

The buried lines failed and they installed these grey boxes so myself and some neighbors can share lines just to make phone calls,

5 meg would be an amazing improvement on what is available here I think I used to have 54 k on dialup and had to browse by disabling pictures and even then any new page would take a minute or so open,,,, those were the days

I signed up yesterday to a package 55 euro / month unlimited landline and mobile calls (got a 5 or 10 euro discount for not needing broadband.
