An 08+ for the family and a newborn? Help!

Hi all, just looking to get a few suggestions really on what would be a good family car matching the following criteria:

    1. Must be an SUV, MPV or (preferably) an Estate.
    2. Be economical, cheap to tax and insure.
    3. Used mainly as a runabout but infrequently used through the year for trips up to Malin Head for short breaks.
    4. Looking at a 2008+ plate, mainly due to the road tax changes for 08+.
    5. Must have a low, easy access and spacious boot for a dog with a fat head and weird feet! :D
    6. Must be able to fit a good quality dog guard fence thingybob in it.
    7. Must have room for the pram/trolley thing and other baby bits and pieces.
    8. Isofix points for a newborn (and later) car seat and the bracket thing.
    9. Decent, low mileage
    10. Budget around €5k to €7k

Much appreciate any ideas suggested. These kinds of cars are new to me, but with a newborn on the way I need to get cracking and find something suitable to replace our current car.

I was looking at maybe a C-Max, a V50 (love those for some reason) or something along those lines.

    Thanks all! :)

EDIT: Created this in the main forum by mistake so posting the thread here. Apologies. :o

Budget might be a little tight I think.

Cheers folks, yeah the Santa Fe is a bit urgent on fuel and tax too no?

Just wondering what folks would choose (or not choose! :)) out of the following:

    Volvo V50
    Kia C'eed SW
    Ford Focus CMax
    Ford Fusion

I'm really keen on the Volvo V50 (although road tax on them is still a bit keen?) but the only examples I can find in budget either have an NI reg or have super high mileage.

    Any helpful hints? :)

I think people tend to focus too much on motor tax when buying and forget that in order to get something with low motor tax the purchase price is a lot higher.

Very true. Think I am guilty of that here! :o

Might be worth looking at an 07 V50 or similar then?
