    Hello,

    Was wondering....

    What would be a good price for a 2013 Canyon Ultimate AL9.0 with Di2 Size = S

    10sp Di2 6700
    Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels
<2,500 km. Fully serviced, firmware updated. Slight signs of wear and tear.

    Original spec below.

I'm out of my depth here tbh.

how much did cost before? we'll start from there before doing estimate as you know a private valuation or your own valuation is different from a bike shops, got a bike 2014 one 6 months since purchase, really good condition as you can get cost before 2400 quid have extras that will push it near the 3000 mark brought it to the big shop in tallaght for a valuation as i was thinking of trading it in manager offered me 1300 quid as he said he needs to put vat on it when he sells it on, went to a bike shop in town he told me its only worth 1000 quid nearly choked when he told me that but this bike shops that have 2012-13 models on their floor selling still for the same prices when they came out, make me think that bikes inside the( irish) shops are not affected by yearly depreciation even though they havent been sold for the last few years, thats why most people tend to order online nowadays cos once the new year/models come out the uk shops tend to put their prices down.

Take a bike out of the shop and my guess is it loses ~20-30% of its value. Run the bike for the year and you will be doing well to get more than 50% of the original purchase price.

Bike parts are very light nowadays and wear out very quickly.....how worn are the parts?..is the milage as stated? Lots of unknowns. Lots of risks.

I bought a secondhand bike a few years back. Knew the owner and thought the bike had been looked after. Within 12 months I had to change a susprising number of parts (derailler, chain, bottom bracket, headset). They had simply worn out.

With the bike to work scheme its easier to move up in price and take a good quality new bike than risk the uncertainty of a better secondhand bike.

As to the shops, they have to give a warranty on any 2nd hand bike and thats a risk for them. Most only give 3 months. Easier for them to sell a new bike and pass on any cost of repairs under the manufacturer warranty.

My advice; private sale on donedeal. It sounds like a good bike.

    Many thanks for the replies.

It's not "pristine" but it is in very, very good nick. The chain etc was wiped down daily and cleaned weekly, so in very good condition. I've only really rode it for the last few months.

I was only pondering on selling it to get the latest 11s version. It's a great bike tbh. Maybe I should just hang on to it and look at getting a CF version. Though if I thought I'd get close to 1k for it....

    Thanks again.

I would think you should get close to the 1000 mark for it.

What ya could do is pop it on done deal for 200 - 300 over what you want for it. And if people are interested they'll try talk you down and you could get what you want for it.
