Had paving put down and laid cable for two outside connection boxes.

Today I had an electrician connect them up.
He spent 11am till 2:30pm fitting glands to the boxes.
He has now spent 3pm till now, 4:30pm, terminating the cable to connection boxes. He has not even started running the cable into the house.

IS he slow or am I being unreasonable?

Is he on hourly rate or on a price job?

I didn't agree price beforehand -- I know bit stupid. I suspect he is spreading it out over two days - one for each connection!

You have essentially given the electrician a blank cheque.
    This may not end well.

If you needed the electrician to meet a deadline this should have been agreed before the work commenced.

Rather than let the situation deteriorate further I think you should talk to him straight away and agree a price and deadlines.

From your description it sounds like he is slow (assuming that the cables are small).
