invalidity pension..??

    I have been on illness benefit for the past 2 years..I now have to apply for invalidity pension as illness benefit time frame has run out..I am still in employment as in my job is still open for me to return to....do you have to be unemployed to claim invalidity pension.thanks in advance

    Well if you had clicked the link, it would have brought you to citizens information and you could then read the rules. But you're right how stupid of me to provide you with the information you requested.

    Couldn't see the link on the phone..my bad!!..guilty of prejudging you based on your user name..lol!!

    Answer wasn't available on citizens information..rang them still they were unsure..so rang Longford and after a girl saying I would have to resign my position before apply for invalidity pension..she then discussed with someone else and came back with an answer..that I should get a letter of my employer stating when I last worked.. So not sure how accurate their info is as they were not very confident in their response..

    You can.

    My sister is on it and still has a job to go back to. She just had to prove that they weren't paying her. In truth, she won't be able to go back but hanging on the job, even just in name, is her bit of denial. It helps.
