    Hello all,

I'm told that, in the past, there was a war memorial at the old York Road railway station before it was replaced with the current one. The war memorial must have been moved when the old station was demolished in the early 90s.

Does anyone know where it ended up ? I'm getting hints that it's in Carrick but I don't remember seeing it the last time I was there.

I was only looking at this site recently which answers your question. While it's off limits to the general public maybe you could contact Translink and ask about arranging a private visit.

Losty, you are a gentleman thank you. In my googling I did not come across that site. I am glad to see that the memorial is being respectfully maintained.

Am I right in guessing that the site linked lists only some of the names on each memorial ?

An elderly uncle tells me that there is a family name listed on the York Road memorial. I don't see it there, but I may have to (as you suggest) contact Translink about arranging a quick visit.
