Been on the look out for these for a while, Picked some up yesterday in tesco with 1/3 off, Also managed to use a dunnes €10 of a €50 quid spend voucher i had, Saving another 20% roughly.

I would like to buy a water filter jug. Do they typically go on clearance at this time of year? Any recommendations for brand and style. I'm tending toward Brita but see there are many different styles of jug out there, not sure which to choose. Any recommendations? Would like a sale price too.

We always end up buying them at Argos. They usually have some sort of a deal on the 6 or 12 packs.

12 pack of Maxtra cartidges are €42 at the moment. Works out at €3.50 each.

We got that bobble one and absolutely hate it compared to a Brita jug. You can't fill it up like the brita and walk away while it filters the water, you have to continuously keep filling the very small reservoir, very annoying. Also, if you take the stickers off, they'll leave a residue that is very difficult to remove without scraping the plastic. You also can't put it in the dishwasher. I'll be going back to the brita jug.

Folks, no need for Brita filters or the like, sure once Irish Water are up and running the water from our taps will be like honey from the gods.
