    Hi All,

I've been looking on this site http://www.sevylor-europe.com and some of them look lovely.

I don't have a lot of storage and an inflatable one would suit. But are they worth it ?

    Would they last ?

What are the advantages vs disadvantages of inflatable?

    Thanks.

Although I don't have experience with inflatable kayaks, my impression is if you are wanting to take your kayaking somewhat seriously and/or do open water or longer trips go for a proper rigid kayak.

If you want to have a bit of fun at the beach with a kayak occasionally then inflatable is fine.

Get an inflatable boat only if you just plan to have some fun at the beach (only under calm sea and wind conditions) or paddling on a lake. Get a plastic boat for every other purpose.

You could take an inflatable on class II maybe (if there aren't any considerable stoppers on the way), but I wouldn't say it's worth the money if if plan of using the canoe on whatever river.

Sorry for the late reply but I have a seyvlor colorado and pound for pound it is simply the best bit of kit I have ever bought.
I use it on mostly lakes and rivers and the odd coastal trip. They are very robust, I have dragged and bounced mine over plenty of sharp rocks and gravel. It takes about 10 minutes to inflate and less to pack up.
They are very stable in the water and can be handled by 1 or 2 people.
The only downside is they catch a lot of wind and they are no where as fast as a regular kayak. But considering what you pay compared to a regular kayak they are brillant, plus they fold up into a small back that can be thrown into the boot.
I would get one again if my current one wears out.
