student loan no employment

I am returning to my third year of college next week and alas my laptop decides to give up on me recently which I was waiting for.  I was wondering if it is possible to apply for a student loan even though I am not employed but will be receiving back to education and help from parents from time to time so my ability to pay back the student loan would not be an issue.  Will not having employment affect my eligibility to apply for a student loan to purchase a much needed laptop?  Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi Livemeat,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

All loan applications are dealt with on a case by case basis with a range of factors taken into account. We would be unable to advise here if your application would be successful and would suggest contacting a Customer Advisor in your account holding branch who will be more than happy to help. We also have more information on Student Loans here

    Thanks
    Tara
