It cant see your HDD or SSD.

Try toggling AHCI mode in the bios. There can also be an option for "OS Installation Mode" on some boards(ASUS are one).

    OS Type
Allows you to select the operating system to be installed. Set this item to Windows 8 for Windows 8
    operating system. (Default: Other OS)

Thats in the BIOS features tab of the bios(UEFI really).

    Also check:
    & Boot Mode Selection
Allows you to select which type of operating system to boot.
UEFI and Legacy Allows booting from operating systems that support legacy option ROM or UEFI option
    ROM. (Default)
Legacy Only Allows booting from operating systems that only support legacy Option ROM.
UEFI Only Allows booting from operating systems that only support UEFI Option ROM.
This item is configurable only when CSM Support is set to Always.

In the peripherals tab, check this is on AHCI.
    & OnChip SATA Type
Enables or disables RAID for the SATA controllers integrated in the AMD Chipset or configures the SATA
    controllers to AHCI mode.
Native IDE Configures the SATA controller to IDE mode. (Default)
RAID Enables RAID for the SATA controller.
AHCI Configures the SATA controllers to AHCI mode. Advanced Host Controller Interface
(AHCI) is an interface specification that allows the storage driver to enable advanced
Serial ATA features such as Native Command Queuing and hot plug.

You might need a proprietary driver if its a weird SSD.

Try installing a Linux distribution, might be a bad iso/ download

Check all of your connections, then check them again. Power down, unplug everything for 5 minutes or so. Have a cup of tea.

See if you can download the ISO for Windows again from another source, do MS still have it available to download?

As mentioned set your BIOS to AHCI. Make sure you save the setting before you exit the BIOS and try again...

Sounds like a wacky windows installation problem.

Are you installing from a USB or from a Dvd? Is it a legit copy?

Since it's reading everything fine in the Bios I doubt its a hardware issue and it sounds like a software issue , as someone else said , Maybe install a Linux Distro to give yourself peace of mind.

I'd try another copy of windows and hopefully that will work.

He said USB in the original post. Enable Legacy mode in Bios and give it a lash.

    Oh Derp.

    Yeah try that.

Try a different method of creating the bootable disk.
Sometimes the windows Usb installer tool didn't work for me in the past.
and making the usb by Cmd prompt did.

I think I have hit this headscratcher before, if you are using usb3 port/stick windows need access to usb 3.0 drivers for your mobo. Much easier fix is to stick the key in a usb2 port.

try switching bios to Legacy if it's UEFI at the moment
