How d'ya mean a black screen??

    What happened?

    What Android version??

Connecting to Laptop via USB cord can be done, if phone is in MTP [Media Transfer Protocol] mode.

Most modern phones, on JB or Kitkat, don't have a USB Mass Storage option.

connecting via USB cord to your PC should give you access to internal Storage OK, but you usually have to OK the connection to USB on your phone.

Here is my Nexus 7 shown when connected as MTP to my Laptop, showing the internal storage.

Here is a good article explaining MTP, etc.

Sometimes I do wonder why I bother answering questions, in detail, for users who apparently don't bother reading the answer to the question they posted.

It is disheartening to take the time and do the research, for apparrently no reason whatsoever.

Thanx.....its not even about the thanks tbh, its really about the feedback, was the info useful, did it solve the problem, etc, etc.

That is the important thing in a self help community board, which is my opinion of what this is.

If I got something wrong, it would help me too, and I know it helps others.

Anyways, I will continue to help out if I can and hope to get stuff back in return, which indeed I get from your posts regularly.

    Thanks a lot.
