Couple of "big" knives

    Recently followed up on a longterm interest and made some knife building equipment. Thanks to a kind member here that donated some Antler I built these, handy if your hunting Buffalo :D

    Yeah, have a couple of full tang on the bench at the moment, just working in 01 for now my second apprenticeship :)

    (01 carbon tool steel, stains and needs some care but holds a good edge)

    At the moment I'm honing my skills, those knives above have minor flaws in the fit and finishing that would stop me from selling them on. They're both razor sharp so I'm happy with them.
    I do intend to sell the occasional knife as I finish them just to cover my time and materials.

    Nice work Bradnailer ,I also intended on getting into knife making 2 winters ago,never happened ,I bought an Enzo 85 trapper full tang and a block of grade 1 Amboyne burl ,which is still in the envelope :o,just wondering if you'd be interested in putting it together for me ,I'll pay you of course ,I'm also in Wexford .

    There's not to many high profile makers in Ireland, a couple of guys in west cork I think, Davy Moore isn't knife making any more , few guys in the UK that do forging classes. There's loads of information available on knife making, try British Blades. You don't need lots of equipment to build a knife, but it helps:D
