I need to order new tags and its been a while since I ordered them last.

Could ye please tell me if I am correct with the following tag requirements:
    1. for Lambs under 9 months to be sold at mart - single mart tag ?
    2. wether lamb over 12 months - set of EID tags ?
    3. stag ewes born prior to 2010 - single mart tag ?
    4. stag ewes born after 2010 - set of EID tags ?

    Thanks

    I do the following:

    1) wether lambs under 12 months - 1 Mart tag in left ear
    2) EID tags for everything else

How soon do I have to tag lambs after they're born and what tags should I get ?
I only have 6 ewe's lambing in the next couple of weeks and don't know what will happen to the lambs . If they don't give much bother over the summer ill keep the females for breeding again and sell the males . Or I could even sell everything so what tags should I get to cover myself ?

I tag mine before 9 months of age, OR if they are leaving the farm.

I sell the wether lambs store before the end of the year so mart tag does me for them. Ewe lambs, whether I'm keeping or selling for breeding I'll put electronic tags in.

I always thought there was a day in dec that everything needs to be tagged by. Anyone know what date it is?

That's the census date where you must count all the sheep in your flock on a given day, fill in the form, and return it to the Dept by (this year) end of Jan I believe.

Currently use Mullinahone tags, have a few to upgrade the tags & like the look of the Elite tags, especially for tagging ss young lambs.
Can I get upgrades from a different company?
Do you need a new tagger or would the slaughter tagger do?

Ya you can change. Just order from a different company, they continue the numbers automatically. The elite tags require a new tagger alright. It isn't expensive though
