Blocked gully trap flooding

    There is a bit of story behind this but the question is simple enough can a blocked gully trap cause an upstairs bathroom to flood?

    It would be very unusual, but not totally impossible, it would all depend on how things are connected to the blocked gully.

    Cheers. Basically landlord is blaming us for water damage due to blocked gully trap. We are countering that it was as a result of a leaky tap and bad seals around the bath.

    Well was there a flood or just some water damage. Bad bath seals won't cause a flood

    Well flood is the wrong word and water damage would be a bit mild, maybe :/
    Water made its way from upstairs into the downstairs ceiling. A rectangular area measuring 1m x 0.5m was replaced where the water had pooled and burst through.
