    Hi,
I was wondering if I could get some advice please.

I've been working in my current job for almost 2 years now, I came here straight out of college. I've been feeling for a while now that I want to leave, I am the only employee here and its a very lonely job, not very good pay and I've just grown very tired of working here.
My boyfriend and I have decided to move to New Zealand for 7/8 months starting February 2015, then when I come back I will start a masters.
I am currently on €22,000 a year (just got a pay increase from €20K this month) and I'm trying to save up for New Zealand, but I'm finding it very difficult.
My question is; is there any point in trying to find another better paying job until I move in February, or should I just stay in my current job? I feel like at my current pay its difficult for me to save up, and that is the main reason I would like to find another job.
I don't feel comfortable getting a full time permanent role, getting trained then in 4 months telling them I'm quitting.
Should I look for a temporary full time job, is there any good paying temp jobs?

    Any advice would be great!
    Thanks

Have you tried reducing your expenditure as a way to save money?

I gave up alcohol. It's amazing how much you save on alcohol/junk.

I think its no harm to look and interview, the economy is picking up, I would look for an agency job or maternity leave cover, and if the money is worth it then take it. I'm in the middle of saving for travelling and considering the exact same myself

    Thanks for the replies.
I am definitely saving, I've cut back a lot recently on alcohol, clothes, buying food out etc I just feel that maybe earning more money would help also, plus I hate where I work now and just wanna get out!
Maternity leave cover sounds like a good idea, should I contact recruitment agencies and let them know my situation and that I'm looking for temp work? Are there any recruitment agencies specifically for temp jobs?

OP, what do you actually do? We can only really advise about the feasibility of temp-work in you tell us a bit more about that and the skills you've got.

Also, I'm not sure why you cannot look for a new job, and stay in your current one until you find one. You don't need to tell places where you're applying that you're planning to resign early next year.

And I'm confused why you're going to NZ towards the end of their summer and start of Ireland's spring. But apart from the tax perspective (the best time to leave here is when your income for the year is E15,600) that's a topic for another forum.

We are going then because we need the time inbetween to save up enough money to go, and also want to spend Christmas with our families before we go. We are not going to New Zealand to work, we are taking those months off to travel and enjoy time off before going back into education so I don't know why it would matter what time we go to New Zealand??
I work in science, I have a biology degree and work in a microbiology laboratory but it's quite hard to get work in laboratories especially since I don't work in a GMP lab or have any pharmaceutical laboratory experience. I don't really mind what field I go into until New Zealand, I'm just thinking towards earning as much money as possible to go towards travelling.
