Macbook: Did I make a good purchase?

    Hiya I purchased a Macbook off Adverts last night for my sister. She is doing a media course and the class works on IMacs in the class room so when she does her assignments at home she would need one but doesn't have the money. I was wondering if the Macbook I purchased a good choice or am I paying for something that is too old?

    It's for general school work and also for video/photo editing and of course using the internet. She is a big traveler as well so the size seems good for that but I might be wrong.

    I bought it for €400 is that a good price? I know nothing about these computers.

    Are you mocking me?

    I come onto this forum to get help and advice. I have never used let alone owned anything Apple and I never plan to. I am purchasing this for my younger sister who uses these in her course NOT because I want to brag about having Apple.

    People give a lot of grief to Apple users but honestly people who give out about Apple users are just as bad.

    It's a 400e facebook machine. (Joking!).

    To be honest, the RAM and processor won't be sufficient if she's doing a lot of audio / video editing. The HDD might fill up fast too (I'd recommend getting a 1TB external at least).

    It must be good few years old (up to 7).

    In my humble opinion you could consider different machine with better CPU (i5 at least) and RAM as otherwise during very first assignment your sister might be a bit disappointed.

    Hard drive would be first thing to replace with solid state drive as soon as you can.
