visas for north and south America?

    I fly to los Angeles soon for a few months travelling around the us. Ive booked my esta. Could anyone advise about south america? Can I pay for them at the borders? Ecuador, bolivia, Peru, brasil, argentina?
    any advice greatly appreciated!
