Is it possible to have the following set up.

A laptop connected to two external monitors. Instead of getting a desktop is it possible to use a laptop like a hard drive. Im hoping I can have two external monitors, keyboard and mouse connected to a laptop and have the the laptop closed and then in the evening just take the laptop home with me.

Can it be done and if so will any laptop be able to do it.

    Thanks in advance

    CF.

Sure it's possible. You need docking station and two external screens that's all.

I don't understand this part though:
"is it possible to use a laptop like a hard drive."

    What you mean by that?

If you have a business spec laptop like a dell latitude you'll be able to buy a docking station or port replicator.

Otherwise Kensington do a USB 3 port replicator which will also do the trick

I think the OP means to use the laptop as a 'desktop' machine. I.E. external keyboard / mouse / monitor set up.

But yeah, exactly like you stated a docking station will do all that.

Here's an example. Be sure to google / get one that suits your make and model of laptop.
