Removing semi-permanent hair dye

I useda Live Colour XXL semi-permanent purple/pink dye in my hair about a month ago. It said it only lasts about 8-15 washes so I was banking on it rinsing out of my hair by now, and while it has faded, it's still pink! I'm going to a wedding in 2 weeks so I want my hair back to normal before then, if possible. Will washing my hair every day between now and then do the trick? Or is there any way to speed it up? I haven't been using any colour protect shampoos, in fact I've been using cheap shampoo as I heard it fades colours faster.

A friend of mine had the exact same problem with XXL dye, she had used it over previously coloured hair which apparently is not advised as the colour clings more so than on Virgin hair. She rang the customer service number on the box and they advised her to use an anti dandruff shampoo (I assume head and shoulders?) and leave in her hair for 20 mins before washing out and following with a good conditioner. It worked at fading the colour but not totally removing it but I guess if you try a couple of times over the next 2 weeks it could work? Good luck!

XXL colours are difficult to remove, it's not going to budge unless you use colour b4 or Scott Cornwall's decolour remover. I've used XXL dyes before and removed them with colour b4 but I've always needed another dye at the ready as it's never fully brought my hair back to it's original colour, but in saying that I've being coloring my hair for years and have a lot of build up.

I had to remove a bright red from my hair earlier this year and I used this http://decolourremover.com/ it was great, and took most of the colour out in one go, despite the amount of colour buildup from dying my hair red for 4 years. It didn't leave my hair back my natural colour though because I had had it bleached before, but if your hair was virgin before the xxl then it should go back to you natural colour.

Thanks guys that's great advice. I'm reluctant to use colourb4 or anything like that as I've just gotten my hair back into good condition after bleaching my hair from dyed black -> blond -> strawberry blond. I just want my hair to be back to blond/strawberry blond for the wedding, after that I'll probably put the purple/pink back into it. At the moment, now that it's fading it's a weird strawberry blond with dusky pink and bright purple scattered everywhere :D I'm gonna try the head&shoulders thing first and if that doesn't budge much of it I'll try something a bit more drastic!

I can't see the head and shoulders making any difference, I've tried that and baby shampoo before and it did nothing tbh. Maybe colour over it? I agree if your hair isn't in good condition I wouldn't use the colour b4 as it can be very drying.....good luck, I hope you find a solution before the wedding :)

If you can afford it go to a good hair dresser and get them to do a colour removal (called a bleach bath) and then get a deep conditioning treatment. I had a huge build up of colour in my hair and like you was very nervous to use colour b4 etc. My hair came out perfectly from the hairdressers ( I also got a two hour head massage because the hairdresser want to remove colour lines ??? from my hair so rub the bleach solution on in spots.

Head and shoulders originak! Used it many times in the past to get my hair back to blonde when I was in secondary school (couldn't turn up with blue hair, nuns wouldn't be having that). If it's really sticking try washing up liquid with baking soda and wash it a few times in a row. I'd apply a deep conditioning mask after it too as it can dry hair out but it'll strip the colour.
