At Immigration where they ask you to show proof of funds in your account, would a job offer letter have the same effect? I might have stumbled into last minute financial issues, and not having to…

I've a query that I hope someone can answer,

I landed myself a job in Vancouver before heading over (leaving in under 2 weeks). At Immigration where they ask you to show proof of funds in your account, would a job offer letter have the same effect?

I might have stumbled into last minute financial issues, and not having to take that $2500 with me would be handy. Would they accept evidence that I've a job waiting there for me instead?
