Would a solicitor in Ireland take a constructive dismissal case against a company in the UK?

Not likely to act or advise in relation to legal issues outside Ireland, unless they are specifically insured to do so.

If you are talking about bringing action in the UK, I'd suggest that you should contact the Irish embassy in London and ask staff to recommend a solicitor over there.

EDIT: if the action can be brought in Ireland (for example, in relation to employment in Ireland) then an Irish solicitor can advise.

Also bear in mind the UK is three jurisdictions. Although Scotland will be the only one that gives you trouble.

PS Did you post the contract back to the company you work for? Nothing to do with cruise ships is it. (little* law student joke there for you ;) )

Given the prevelance of EU Law, if it touches on a directive/regulation they might be able to give advice but as a practical matter, best to take it up with those placed to have experience in these matters.

Makes no sense to ask him to. To run a case in a UK jurisdiction, you need someone admitted in that jurisdiction.
