Contact Lense

Hi, curious to see if anyone's had the same experience.
Dropped in to get my new 3 month supply of contact lenses - had been a few months since I had gotten a new supply. Desk lady said she'd check the prices for me so I figured i'd be helpful and let her know what I payed last time - 40 euros for 3 month's supply no solution included, 60 euros with the solution.

She looked at me like I was straight up lying to her face and proceeded to correct me stating it had been "65 WITHOUT the solution, right?" Nope, not right. Another employee comes with my file, says it'll be 85 or 87 for 3 months WITH the solution, 65 without and proceeded to state that I got a good deal last time as they hadn't taken in account my prescription :s. When I told her I was quoted the same exact figures by 2 different Specsaver's opticians on 2 different days AND the calculations were done from scratch in front of me, she just laughed it off and said it was a mistake!

Was it so hard to say that the prices had gone up?! I even asked if they had! Needless to say I am not paying almost 30 euros more for the same service so looked around boards.ie and found this http://www.daysoftcontactlenses.com/ .

However I have an astigmatism on my left eye and I dont see an option for that on their website so does anyone have any other websites that do great deals? Also, I know I'll need my prescription but I kept my contact lense boxes and it has the numbers on it. Is that all I need?

    Thanks!

Legally you will need an in date copy of your prescription and any legitimate supplier, in store or on the net, will insist on verifying it prior to supplying lenses.

Daysoft have no lens option for astigmatism.

As for the pricing issue Sky sports is being advertised at €1/month at the moment. I can guarantee that it won't stay at that price and there are terms and conditions.

You may have got the benefit of an offer or a mistake or the prices may have gone up. It doesn't matter if you want the lenses you have to pay the price. If you want to shop around for a cheaper option then that's your right as a consumer and that is why you can request a copy of your prescription.

Please remember if you have been prescribed a particular brand not to assume you can substitute with another lens.

Thanks for your reply, i'll definitely search around for better offers. I guess i'll have to ask them all the specifics including the brand, I know some of the "trials" I tried where very uncomfortable.

I'm a bit confused on the sky sports deal, I think you meant to post that somewhere else? :p

If anyone knows any other websites let me know!

Your optician may have had a promotion on the lenses at a cheaper price to get you to buy them in the first place and now they have put them back to the full price.

Oh it was a metaphor. Right, if it was they absolutely never stated as such. Thought it was pretty shady of them to change the price and treat me like I was lying. I mean my file had the prices on it before, and when I got there it had another price on it altogether. They could have just said they changed the price, as I am not buying the whole "mistake" thing as I stated, I was quoted the same price by 2 employees on 2 different occasions.
