Shure PG27 USB Good for home recording?

Hi thinking about recording a few tunes (accoustic guitar and vocals) and was thinking of buying a Shure PG57 USB mic. Will this suit my needs or is there any cheaper alternatives out here.

Also thinking of Rode NT-USB

I dont know anything about the two items you list, but I can recommend the Zoom H1 recorder. I have used it at a few band rehearsals and the lads were very surprised at how good the recording was, coming from something so small.

The H1 is the most basic and easy to use. I think there is also a H2, H3, and H4, which increase in price and complexity.

I got mine in "Goodwins" of Capel St whose price was better ( around €95) than anything I could find on line.

Do some research and see what you think.

Thanks - am leaning towards the Rode NT-USB at the moment.
