I was about to book a journey westwards for early October and noticed that there has been an (unannounced?) increase in the price of the trips.

Where I could get fares for €14.99 depending on the day/time I travelled, the minimum now is €17.99. There is also an increase in the more expensive fares.

It seems to have kicked in form the beginning of September. Did I miss an announcement somewhere?

Online fares are promotional fares - they can change regularly enough.

The standard booking office fares are regulated by the NTA.
