PVC multipoint lock system repair

    Hi

I have a multipoint lock system on a PVC door, and the securing mechanism is activated by lifting the handle upwards. The key can then be turned in the cylinder to lock the door.

On Sunday, the securing mechanism gave way, as I lifted the door handle to secure the door. I heard the sound of some metal inside the door crack and fall down.

When I removed the mutlipoint locking system and examined the gears in the central gearbox, I found that one of the teeth in the gear had cracked off, so whenever I lift the door handle, it won't activate the securing mechanism anymore:

I've decided to replace the central gearbox, but when I look at the screw that secures the gearbox to the metal strip on the side of the door, I can see it's a Torx head screw, but I've tried a 2.5mm and a 3mm Torx head allen key to no avail. The 2.5mm was too small, and the 3mm was too big, so I'm guessing I need a 2.75mm Torx head screwdriver / allen key? Any idea where to get one?

I'm guessing that the company who make these locking systems don't want the end user servicing them, so have used an arcane screw size to avoid customers messing with their locking system. I'd rather not call out a PVC door installation company if I can repair it myself though.

    Any ideas appreciated

Bring the complete mechanism to MILA in kilbarrack. Full replacement will be about 30€.
