I just rang them up. Similar format to last year. They said it's only open to stap groups this year so your facilator will have to book group in. I found it very interesting last year and learned a lot . Still have a good sheep book that they gave out on the day.

Didn't realise it was only for Stap groups.
Might try to go anyway. Went 2 year ago, found it a good day out

that's what your wan told me on the phone today, but I cannt see them exactly checking IDs on the day. Who do they think would have even the slightest interest in turning up other then a sheep farmer ?? ?

I'm sure you won't be thrown out.
Stap groups have to prebook and I presume they're given a time slot.
    Has it been advertised
We're off to Crosby clelands tomorrow with our stap group, have to meet the bus at 7.30.
We're going to a hill farmer as well

Ha you'll have some questions for Crosby I reckon. He has a good set up and is a firm believer in lamb numbers rather than weights. Whose hill farm are you going to? Is it up this way?

Crosby is really into his figures but wouldn't like the sheep at all.....you have to like the look of what you're working with.
Didn't go to a hill farm after, but went to John Martin on the Ards Peninsula, both farmer had lovely farms and grass and were a pleasure to talk to.
I think both were down on my farm walk two years ago

Just out of interest rangler1, just remember a newspaper article on him years ago, Crosby keeps highlanders & primera, (may have this wrong) but what didn't you like about sheep.

Have to agree Rangler, i can't stand the sight of his primera rams but you can't fault him on his numbers game. His new sheep house is fairly handy and easy to clean out!. However i find it hard to fathom that someone like him can lose 40 ewes to fluke and not catch on in time to prevent such big losses. John is a decent fella too, would run a good set up. I'd work fairly closely with them on the Focus Farm programme that they were in.
