Planning to head to Phoenix park this evening. Pretty new to this and looking to try some new shots and I'm looking for your suggestions (with examples and techniques if possible) that I can try.
Supposed to be clear night but I'm not sure if it us clear enough to try astrophotography, what else can I try?

Sorry Toolerc - a bit late but I hope you got out and enjoyed the evening!

I used to live near Phoenix Park and it is full of opportunities for photos. The deer are amazing, so I hope you got near some of those. Please feel free to post any shots you did take for constructive critique if you wish :)

Where I usually see them is up by the cricket field and the GAA pitches - so if you drive straight up the central spine of the park, say away from town - on your left hand side the deer are often just in there. Up as far as the Papal Cross monument - but also then back around to the left, towards the other side of the sports fields.

That map is great, it shows the hurling and gaa fields that I mention, so around there is very popular with the deer, as well as around Acres road and by the Papal Cross (image above) as I mentioned. The Black Wood and Sankey's Wood too! I'd imagine 15 acres is also popular as they roam freely.
