    have a smartphone? download the app and talk over 3G mobile data anywhere (the signal around the city is certainly strong enough for talking, maybe not great for video calls)... there's no need for an internet café for this anymore

    Also use headphones with a microphone - much easier to hear without others listening in

    But I was more talking about a place to have a private convo in galway that has free wifi.

    Bit of a tall order I know.

    But the microphone and headphones is a great idea.

    Most/many pubs will have free wifi if you ask for the password.
    Go in and get lunch and find a quiet corner for your call.
