Just wondering does removing the sheet that blocks the windows on the rear side of a jeep affect the tax? Would like to get rid for the extra view. It's taxed as a commercial.

    Cheers

if you do that you could get pulled in for inspection as commercials have windows smashed and seats removed and plate welded in.

No is the short answer, its perfectly fine.

Sure even if you convert a jeep from passenger to commercial you can leave the glass in, I have done quite a few over the years and it was never questioned when being inspected.

No one seems to worry about the glass.

Once a guard mentioned it to me. I said it was reversing with trailer and changing lanes...

He said of course, and go on.
Manufacturer in NI, thought it was mad as unlike vans 4x4s etc have small mirrors as one is supposed to have rear windows. it's really a safety issue.
