It would sell well in other markets if the price was right

They can start building the old Hiace again too if they like. I'd buy one in the morning.

I'd love to see the new Camry in Ireland, a great nice well styled car and about the only car Toyota make that I like. I had one in Australia before and it was a great luxobarge.

They still sell them in places like Africa and India. (As in the 80s one)

From the Toyota Nigeria Hiace brochure
Cabin Amenities: Cabin amenities abound, with conviniently positioned cup holders, a storage pocket for cellular phones, front door trim with bottle holder, a lower glove box for maps, and an undertray for unopened beverages

Heavy emphasis on cups and bottles, both opened and unopened. Does it come with a radio or anything?:)

    Yeah, and aircon.
    ABS, airbags etc are optional.

I've had a 75 series for the past 2 years out here in Australia. Originally a 1994 11 seater (3 up front, 8 out back) and converted years ago to a pop top camper. It sleeps 4, seats 6, 180L fuel tanks, fresh water storage on board, gas fitted for cooking, dual batteries, fridge/freezer. Goes anywhere. It's only got 320,000 on the clock.

Fantastic machines. It always surprises me how capable it is despite looking tatty considering its age. It's a bit uncomfortable on rough sections off road being leaf sprung all round but goes anywhere. It's got the legendary 4.2L straight 6 1HZ non turn diesel. So it's not fast with only 129hp. With a steady foot and not too many twisting hills it is possible to get about 11.5L/100km.

Brother in law has a 2005 model. Much more comfortable, coils up front and his is the TD version.

All new models here have the 4.5L V8 turbo diesel. Great sounding machines and push out about 200hp too.

I love the 70 series. So iconic.
