Find out what accommodation links the college has.

You might check with the college if you allowed use the Naval Service ferry to Cobh, which would have more accommodation than Ringaskiddy.

Also consider locations along Bus Éireann route 223. http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1400678872-223.pdf

Carrigaline would be within cycling distance, but on rural roads and no bus.
