Hi, not sure if I'm posting in the right place, but I had a thought earlier..

How come WH Smith is in Dublin Airport (specifically Terminal 2) and not an Irish bookstore?

I also notice WHSmith stocks English branded produce, such as British snacks that we don't get here, etc.
Just found it odd that an Irish shop isn't there in its' place.

Because they were willing to pay the rent. Easons were in there before, but wanted to pay less as sales had fallen.
It went back out to tender and wh smith were willing to pay more.

More of the long haul flights depart terminal 2, long haul travellers are most likely to buy books and magazines, a quick hop over to England dosen't need such light reading so less people are likely to buy them on short flights.

A large part of WH Smith's business is travel retail. You will find them present in airports around the world.

As for Dublin, the won the tender process when T2 was opening and won the T1 contract subsequently.

You can buy books and magazines in both terminals.
