does anyone know what shampoos out there are sulfate free or low sulfates?

I know most of the 'supermarket' brands tend to be pretty much full of sulfates. I have curly hair, which has got quite frizzy and I was recommended to try & get a sulfate free shampoo/conditioner. I heard Aveda do a great sulphate free shampoo & conditioner for curly hair. Its available in Brown Thomas, but it aint cheap! I do want to get it at some point when I've a bit of extra cash, but in meantime I was wondering if there are any others around?

I'm pretty sure L'oreal do a sulfate-free shampoo? I remember seeing it in Boots but I've never used.

It's called L'Oreal Everpure. I've seen it but not tried it, though I am curious if they make any difference.

I've been using L'oreal everpure for a while and I really feel a difference in my hair! I have curly hair too and since I switched from regular shampoo my hair is much less dry and frizzy.

Not just Everpuire is sulphate free, the rest of the Ever range is too. I've used eversleek and everstrong both I found to be quite good.

I've just started using the L'Oreal sulphate free shampoos. I haven't noticed a massive difference but maybe it takes a while!

that's great to hear! My hairdresser said that sulphates are bad for curly hair, and as mine is getting very frizzy, despite using shampoo designed for curly hair, I think I need something better. I'll hopefully be able to get that L'Oreal in my local Boots!

Unfortunately my local Boots in Tralee doesn't stock it, nor could I see anything like it! I did find a sulfate & paraben free shampoo & conditioner by Palmers (they make the body creams too) in another local pharmacy. It wasn't too expensive either, just under €6 each. So I might try that one out!

Tesco stock it and I think other supermarkets might too!

Elave do sulphate free shampoo too. Baby and adult. You'll get it in any Chemist. Most supermarkets should have it too.

    Hello,
Have a look in this thread.

Also, the Penny's shampoo mentioned in the thread is really good! (for e4!).

Had a look at my Frizz Ease curly spray that I've used for years on my hair when wet. It is full of sulfates & parabens, so I don't think I'll use it anymore. It isn't much good for curly hair & frizz if its full of those!

wow, I have seen that Hask shampoo/conditioner but wasn't sure about whether it would be ok. I use the Hask Argan oil which I bought in Penneys, but I wasn't sure if the shampoo/conditioner would be too much argan oil in my hair! I think I might actually give it a go, seeing as its so cheap, and if I don't like it at least I haven't paid too much for it!

Tresemme have a "natural" line that's low in surfaces and silicone free.

Pantene have a silicone free shampoo for fine hair (I have thick curly hair and it works fine. Just make sure to condition after).

Penneys also have two shampoo/conditioner lines: one is a coconut shampoo that's paraben free (Inecto pure coconut shampoo). The second is by Hask (the argan oil shampoo line). It's free from sulphates and parabens and a great price!

I've used all of these and I have been pretty happy with them. The Pantene and Tresemme lines can be found in Boots/Tesco. If you cannot find them in your local one try ordering them online. Hope that helps.

I bought the Hask argan shampoo & conditioner in Penneys & have used it 3 times now & I am noticing a difference today after using it. My curls are a lot more defined (used argan oil after too) & it looks a lot better than it has in ages. Early days yet but I like it sofar & my hair feels lovely & soft.
