emergency calls only ??????

    hi folks
    i have a samsung s3 mini . it fell down the toilet but was picked up pronto . minimum water damage .


    anyway i am getting emergency calls only on screen ?

    it is recognising the sim card

    any ideas????

    i removed motherboard and cleaned corrosion off with a toothbrush

    It looks like it's not recognising the SIM card, you should get exactly the same message if you switch the phone on with no SIM installed. It might be no harm to borrow a SIM from a friend which would be a test to see if your SIM is kaput.

    because when i take sim out it says

    When i put in sim card it comes up

    EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY .

    s3 mini works a treat BUT his cousin also has water damaged s3mini . this one looks like blown battery . ive new battery ordered from UK so ill let you know how i get on . but this one has more corrosion on motherboard . i cleaned this one with IPA Alcohol and a toothbrush .
