    Hi All

    West Limerick Vintage Club Annual Vintage Show and Family Fun Day

    Sunday September 7th sees our Annual Vintage Show & Family Fun Day take place at The Thatch Bar, Newbridge, Co.Limerick. It's a great day out with lots for the whole family to enjoy from displays of vintage farm machinery to bouncy castles and magic and puppet shows and with all proceeds going to Rathfredagh Cheshire Home, Newcastle West.

    The first Vintage Show and family Fun day was held six years ago and it has quickly gained popularity. As well as holding a family day out the event had the aim of raising funds for local charities, and over the years over 18000 euro has been donated to organisations like Milford Hospice, The Irish Kidney Association and Breast cancer Ireland.
    This year’s chosen charity is a local one; Rathfredagh Cheshire Home just outside Newcastle West. It is hoped that the September 7th show and family day will raise lots of money for this worthwhile charity.


    FREE ENTRY TO VINTAGE EXHIBITORS

    All Vintage Exhibitors will enjoy free entry, a large commemorative brass plaque and complimentary refreshments on the day so please bring your classic or vintage car, tractor, engine, motorbike, commercial or 4x4 and enjoy the day.

    FUN FOR CHILDREN!

    There will be lots for children to enjoy on the day, with bouncy castles, a 45 foot inflatable obstacle course, farm animals, face painting and more. Also in attendance will be Kidspartyclub.ie who will provide entertainment with their puppet show, kids disco, magic show, kids tattoos and modelling balloons and the good thing is that parents won’t be forking out euro after euro! Once you pay the entry fee, the kids can enjoy the bouncy castle and all these other kids’ attractions all afternoon at no extra charge. There will also be a Wheel of Fortune with lots of prizes so try your luck!


    VINTAGE CARS, TRACTORS AND MACHINERY

    Given our love for all things vintage and classic, it’s no surprise to learn that there will be lots of vintage cars, tractors and machinery on display on September 7th, and you will enjoy strolling around, examining the beautifully maintained items from days gone by! You will be see threshing, baling, horse-shoeing, sheaf tossing and more, and it will bring the memories flooding back to those of us of a certain age! And if you’re too young to remember, you will be amazed at the machinery in action, and the labour involved in farm tasks.

    DOG SHOW

    The Dog Show is a popular part of the day, and lots of breeds of all shapes and sizes will be in attendance for you to admire. If you have a dog, why not bring it along! There will be rosettes and prizes in many categories to be won on day.

    TUG OF WAR

    The Tug of War is part and parcel of the Vintage Show and family Day, and teams of hardy pullers will thrill and excite you with their strength and skill at this exciting sport.

    GOOD FOOD

    If you’re feeling peckish on the day you will be able to sample tasty food in the food stalls. Rigney’s farm (Rigneysfarm.com) will be in attendance to offer their home-made hot dogs made with their free-range pork sausages and they taste absolutely wonderful. Be sure to sample one and you’ll agree!

    LOTS OF FREE PARKING

    If you’re travelling by car, there will be ample free parking at the venue.

    ENTRY ONLY 5 EURO EACH OR 10 EURO FOR FAMILIES

    Entry costs just 5 euro each or 10 euro for families with all the kids’ entertainment free upon entry. And remember, all proceeds go to Rathfredagh, Cheshire Home
