Need ideas for a 40th bday

So my wife has been saving for over a year and had hoped to take a small group of 8 to the greyhounds for dinner and races. The food is ok but the entertainment of the races is always good craic. Unfortunately it turns out there is a match on and the races aren't on that night.

Is there anything else in or near Galway similar? The races really keeps the night flowing as there is something to focus on and talk about.

I'm open to any and all ideas. Thanks.

Not a bad idea. Is weather dependent though. I was at my first rugby match a few months ago. Couple of beers before, during and after the game. Good craic. No harm to have a backup plan in case the match idea doesn't work out. I'll have a think about it.
