Books: The Irish Legal System & Principles in Irish Law

Just wondering if these books are of much help for somebody studying Law/ Legal Studies? I am reading both at present, and while they are very interesting reads, would it be advisable to move toward other more in-detail book/s, or are these books sufficient enough for providing an elementary and basic grounding in legal knowledge and concepts?

It would be one book used for first semester introduction to legal systems. It's a good reference to keep to hand.

Depends on the purpose of your understanding.

If someone is improving their general knowledge, or works as a courts reporter, or is a first year undergraduate, books of this nature are perfectly adequate.

But they are crash courses. They're the kind of principles that undergraduates learn before they can move on to issues of substance.
