Flashing light on laptop

Apologies if posting in wrong forum & lack of tech info.
When my HP laptop was plugged out it went dead - so I got a new cable to power it up. Now when I unplug the new power cable, a light on the lower left of keyboard (third one from left) flashes continuously. The 1st one is for WiFi, the 2nd is for power but not sure what the 3rd & 4th ones are for). Any idea why and how do I make this annoying flashing stop. (Btw it doesn't flash when laptop is in use). Thanks!

battery knackered? as if you have power feed it does not flash correct?

Yeah maybe that's it. Think the battery is knackered but I don't mind plugging it in to power up. Do I need to remove the battery to stop this annoying flashing (that is probably knackering the battery even more). Thanks for reply!

i have mine plugged in all the time as battery only lasts minutes and what worries me if battery is out and power cord gets pulled might it damage it and will lose what your working on.
you could try it but dont know if good or bad for laptop.
