Apparently they are shutting shop this evening and looking for a buyer.
Comes as a bit of a surprise. :(

    Any reason given?

thats a shame hopefully it is taken over and continues the same way, i always used them ahead of uk sites even if they were a wee bit dearer, purely for the fact that no were else south of the border stocked such a range of quality products and wanted to help the guys out

Shame to see them go, although they seem to have hit a rough patch over the last few months, first with the detailing end stopping and then with a sale with fairly significant discounts. However, some of the most successful business people have failed at the start, learn from the mistakes and hopefully Larry and co. reammerge stronger the next time

This was their busiest summer ever and it remained a profitable business, even up until close of business today. It's just the time and energy required to run a business as successful as this is massive.

It'll be great to hang out with Larry again in a non-work environment, although inevitably, it'll still involve cars. :)

Surely if it was profitable, they'd continue it as a going concern, while trying to find a buyer/investor?
Right now it's a non-trading entity...and they rarely if ever sell for more than what they would if they were still trading.

It's a shame to see this happen...competition never hurt anyone, and to be honest its better for the detailing community that there is more companies like it operating!
Fingers crossed they get the outcome they are hoping for!

I can see Curran making a significant investment soon...........it will be called..........Detailing Clean Car in a Shed. (DCCS Ltd for short) :D

Seriously though, it came as a huge surprise to me when MuppetCheck pointed it out to me earlier on. Larry was a detailer's friend and like Mr. Curran, was always willing to answer questions and help customers at the drop of a hat.

Larry and John, you will be missed!

Shame. Great service from Cleancar. No one else ever sent me a refresher sweet with an order before. :D

Sad to see them go. They were really convenient and everything.

Larry was always extremely accommodating to me when I wanted work done or even called in to pick something up. Top class workmanship and product range and always excellent advice.

Damn thats' an awful pity. Have used them a few times and detailing shed and always look forward to the handwritten thank you note from Larry with the refresher bar inside it :D A lovely personal touch.

Doh! Was just about to start purchasing lots of stuff to put in my shed that will sit there for ages until I realize you're actually supposed to USE IT on the car...

Curran, you'll be getting some of that order anyway, but anyone know where's the go-to spot for Gtechniq products now?

    Ye both should have merged.
    Then we could've had CleanShed.ie.
Now that would've confused the horses.

Sorry to see Cleancar.ie go - was in hospital when the bad news broke.
It's definitely a tough game to make a living at, particularly with our relatively low population base in this country, and I salute anybody who has the balls to give it a lash.
Larry & co, I wish you every success in your future endeavours. You will be missed.
