I've seen around boards mention of a charge being placed on your nppr for not paying the nppr tax&penalties

There's a 12 year limit on this, so if you just take the charge, tough it out for a dozen years does it just go away?

Or does the tax still apply?

Yeah but obviously the Local Authority will pursue the charge on the property, why would someone expect to sit it out for 12 years?

No prosecution is possible on NPPR offences after 6 years - so for 2009 non payment no prosection is possible after 2015. For 2013 non payment no prosecution possible after 2019.

If there have been any prosecutions to date I would be very surprised. There have been none for the Household Charge or the LPT (yet)

What's prosecution got to do with a charge on the property?

I was replying to this "Yeah but obviously the Local Authority will pursue the charge on the property, why would someone expect to sit it out for 12 years? " and pointing out that the ultimate penalty of prosecution is only available for 6 years.

But that poster wasnt talking about prosecution, they're talking about the council trying to force a sale to get their money.

    They can't force a sale - can they ?
