I will need something comfortable as my Daily Commute will be a 200k round trip with the odd 400k every 5 weeks.
I am looking tpo spend about 3k. I have been looking at the Ford Mondeo 2006 2 litre Diesel with 2 years nct.

what are peoples thoughts on this car?
Is there any other big cars in my budget i should be looking at?

I think those mk3 mondeos can be a money pit.. Injectors, injector pump, dual mass flywheels etc can all be very expensive repairs.
At this price point its a real minefield but it all comes down to the individual car rather than generalising about a make or model.

Would that Skoda Superb be better than a 2006 Mondeo with similar milage and two years NCT?

The Superb is basically a stretched Passat, the 1.9 TDi is an old engine but mechanically it is simple and reliable. Will be more reliable than the Mondeo? Impossible to tell without knowing the history of the Mondeo.

Good price and should be mega comfy for long days.
Older design but still fresh looking and economical.
