Three don't even have the standard network coverage issues sorted yet as can be seen by a multitude of threads on here. But good news none the less.

It lets both save money. Without SERIOUS Regulator conditions (there aren't) it won't much make difference to consumer in capacity or coverage.

Nor will the Regulator properly monitor coverage or capacity.

    It doesn't do any harm.

The arrangement makes sense. The only downside is that the regulator hasn't caught up, and even started to move to mandate such a move. "It is envisioned that the joint network will provide 4G (LTE) data coverage in every part of the country." spoke like a true spokesperson that has yet to get the finance and regulatory guys'n'gals' opinion on the matter. When (neither) licence requires them to do so, expect coverage black-spots, for years. I guess even if it was a licence condition, it still wouldn't be enforced. But, hey, soft touch regulation is the way to go, right!?

    Sure, what could go wrong?

Anglo Irish Bank worked so well with Soft Touch Regulation. The Financial Regulator after all wasn't ignorant!
