    Hi all,

Going into town on Sunday with the missus before she gets the last bus to Galway.

Does anyone know what bars/restaurants are open on Sunday? Was thinking of taking her to Captain Americas for some cocktails/food if that's still an option.

    Cheers,
    Michael

    Most places are open Sundays.
Only a handful of restaurants close on Sundays.

We aren't puritanical like the Germans or nordie prods, Sunday is like any other day in Dublin.

Remember when the only thing to do on a Sunday afternoon was to go for a drive.....

There are better options than Captain America - as previously mentioned, pretty much everywhere is open on a Sunday.

Don't forget 'finish homework', 'weekly shower' and 'spitting image' on after Glenroe if you've been very good! :D

Weekly bath (water usually shared with my brother thus defeating the purpose of bath!) and then London's Burning if I was good!

Bath in our case, and we never got to watch Spitting Image!

Followed by Prisoner Cell Block H on ITV, best programme ever.

And Captain Americas is probably one of the worst restaurants in Dublin OP, you'd be better off taking her to McDonalds.

You should watch 'Orange is the New Black' on Netflix. It's Prisoner Cell Block in colour! :)

They've remade Prisoner Cell Block H. It's now called Wentworth Prison
    - has many of the same characters as Cell Block H had.

    It's definitely worth a watch

Pretty much everywhere will be open on Sunday.
Your only considerations really would be where and when the last bus to Galway leave from.

I've never been to Captain Americas but I can't imagine it offers great value / quality/ entertainment.

If you have an idea of the time you're heading into town and what time you'll be leaving it might be possible to narrow down recommendations.
