Electric element with hrv system

I aquired an 2.2kw electric element duct enclosure in work today and was wondering would it be worth integrating into my hrv system.
I noticed last winter on cold nights while putting my hand over a vent the air felt cool if not cold, this has to have an effect on room temperature.
I would use a duct stat controlling a contactor when air temperature dropped below a set temperature in the intake manafold.
It's possible to disconnect half of the elements reducing it 1.1kw but would running costs outweigh any benefits.
    All thoughts and opinions welcome.
