I'm starting the dip Monday in NUIG, I am commuting from Limerick so I need to find parking daily. I know there is the cathedral but if that's full there are the park and rides. Are dangan and corrib village park and ride the same place? I was on the main road and turned right into corrib village (well that's what the sign said) but I never saw the huge car park that is advertised on the internet? After I turned in I continued straight on and saw about 50 spaces on the right and then came to the centre of corrib village were there was a laundrette. Any help would be appreciated thanks! Also if I walked rather than waited for the shuttle bus how long would it take! Thanks again!

When you turned in where the sign said Corrib Village you then should have kept to the left instead of going towards Corrib Village, that's where the big car park is.

That's great thanks! Is there only one interest to corrib village ? Or had I went in the wrong entrance? And do you know if the temporary parking permit covers that park and ride ? Becuase it says just for corrib village

    Hi claireshan,

Is this just until you receive your permit? Because If you are starting the dip then you should be able to get the student parking permit from the parking office in areas uni cathaill upstairs. You pay €45 I think for the full year (which is a LOT cheaper than parking at the cathedral! There's parking all over the campus then! More info here: (www.)nuigalway.ie/buildings/parking_students.html
(There's a link to a map of the campus parking available there too!) and I think it might just be for corrib village until you get the permit!

As for the entrances to corrib village, there's technically two- one from the main campus and another as you turn off the main road. You seem to have driven the easiest way the first time- the main car park is easy to miss when you follow the road- there's a turn to the left before you enter the village. It's just at the start of the speed bumps I think!
The other way is if you drive through the campus then straight ahead then following the road to the right you end up going through corrib village and it's a dead end at the top. From that way to get to the car park, you instead follow the bus route and exit through the top of corrib village to the right and follow that road to the right and end up at the big car park.

Hope that helped and wasn't too confusing!
