Freesat and IPTV combo box?

    Hi all,

What would be a good STB for Freesat (using an existing Sky Minidish) and IPTV?

Is there any box that could integrate my Bein Sports/Star Sports apps/streams subs etc to it? I'd like to be able to switch to IPTV from Freesat and vice versa. Maybe add more FTA IPTV streams, radio etc etc.

Needs to be family-friendly for the non-eggheads at home and would be great if it worked with my Logitech Harmony One remote. Also PVR etc would be great, streaming, Plex and so on.

I'm asking a lot I know but thanks in advance! :)

No Freesat branded receiver will do what you're asking.

A receiver running Enigma 2 firmware (or perhaps some of the very latest that now use Android) could be tailor made to achieve what you are looking for, but it will definitely not be something that could work straight out of the box, it would need a bit of time setting up yourself and the end result might not pass the "user-friendly" test.

Other's may advise on how best to go down this route, I'm a novice when it comes to Enigma 2 receivers presently.

    Thanks for the info. :)

I'm thinking of getting a VU+ Solo 2. The idea being to have the DVB-S pulling in whatever the SKY minidish can get (Freeview? Freesat? Youview? FTA misc?) and then use plugins to add in my Bein Sports and Star Sports legit account?

If that's definitely not a goer, then I'll probably look at a cheaper receiver and then go for a Minix 8 for the sports apps.
